About Me

Founded in 2002, The Editing House is owned and run by Claire Dean – a published author and developer of the award-winning My Guide series of self-help, wellness and how-to books designed to improve lives.

As a qualified, professional proofreader and copy editor, I have over 21 years’ experience in the publishing industry, liaising direct with authors, proofreaders, publishing houses and in-house production departments in order to meet strict publishing deadlines. Recent work undertaken includes projects for HarperCollins, Orion Books, Bloomsbury, Poolbeg Press, Hay House Publishers and Bonnier Books, among others, on a freelance basis. I have edited hundreds of manuscripts, from fiction to non-fiction, of many different genres, all of which have gone on to publication. I now specialise in romance, family sagas, psychological thrillers and self-help.

I am committed to helping both authors and publishers realise all of their aspirations through expert, impartial advice and encouragement. My passion and experience in my field enables me to give more people the tools they need to bring their work up to a publishable standard.
